Be Part of the ExStrawdinary Global Art Exhibition
Share your art for a chance to be featured on Earth Guardians International Youth Council Social Media!
Send in your original artwork, inspired by the ocean and how you feel about plastic pollution - don't forget to include a straw!
***Deadline to participate has been extended to July 4***
Now until July 4th. The submission period will run from now until July 4th, 2018. We invite you to submit a process piece anytime during your artmaking process. The process piece will only be published if you want it to be. You must submit your finalised artwork by July 4th. We will announce the winners soon after this.
Who can enter?
Although our council focuses on youth empowerment, the art exhibition is open to all ages to enter, as many adults are still ‘a child at heart’. Entries will be categorised into age groups: Under 12,12-16, 16-25 and 25+. The winner of each age group will receive a mystery prize.
What can be included?
There are no wrong answers in art. Therefore, we encourage you to create an artwork in any medium/form that you want. It can be a painting, sculpture, video, song, poem, story, digital drawing, photo… the list is endless. The only limitation is that it must be able to be uploaded online and shared as a photo, pdf, gif, audio recording, video recording or written document. We would also love a little explanation (100 words max) of the story behind your artwork and what inspires you.
This is a digital art exhibition, celebrating the potential to connect people from all corners of the world using the internet. Our council aims to demonstrate how we can use social media to make a positive change and connect in our ‘globalised’ world. We believe a focus on the positive capacities of the internet is important today as we are often bombarded with fear that social media is disconnecting us from family and close friends and exposing us to wrongs through bad news, cyber bullying, trolls and hackers. Our art exhibition provides a welcoming, public space for people to express their emotional response to ocean pollution through art.
