“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” - Margaret Mead

(letter from a group of our supporters)

Dear Friends of the Earth Guardians,

If ever there was a group that understands this concept, and indeed represents the ‘small group of thoughtful, committed citizens’ Margaret Mead spoke of, it is our own Earth Guardians.

Not only are they thoughtful and committed, they have been taking action to raise awareness and promote an agenda of non-violent change to improve our environment, save our ecosystems, and literally show us how easy (and sane) it is to make conscious decisions about our survival. Now as they are taking responsibility to lead us into a better future, we are asking you, our friends and supporters, for your financial support or for in-kind donations and services, so they can continue to expand their work with the resources they need.

What the Earth Guardians have already accomplished is amazing. Impressive indeed, and yet there is still so much more to do. Right now in Colorado we are facing some critical issues that must be addressed. The Earth Guardians are right in the middle of the fray, focusing much of their free time on helping to getting bans on fracking and GMO’s in our community. They are also giving the E.A.R.T.H. multi-media presentation in schools to educate their peers and inspire their generation to action, as well as using the power of performance to build energy and community in the fight for a livable planet. They have been invited to Washington DC to help lead the iMatter Youth Action in partnership with Earth Day on the Washington Mall where over 100,000 people attend.

In order to expand their critical work in these areas, the Earth Guardian organization needs to build an infrastructure to support its programs and campaigns. To date, almost all of the activities of the Earth Guardians have been supported through the voluntary assistance and periodic financial support of a small group of dedicated individuals. It’s time to take it to the next level.

They need your financial support at this critical juncture of their work. Very simply, they need a permanent home, modest paid staff support, equipment to allow them to spread their message and help in defraying their operational expenses. Their goal is to raise $66,470 in the next three months to help them create the type of sustainable organization that will allow their leadership – their youth – to continue to build upon the successes of past years. The Earth Guardians also intend to replicate these efforts around the world to allow as many youth as possible to learn from their model, so they can really be effective in creating the much need change all over the planet. They have had requests from 25 groups in 8 different countries to bring Earth Guardian programs to their communities, and they are excited to begin this journey of spreading their message, and their love for the sacred Earth.

In the words of Chief Seattle “we do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our children,” please support the Earth Guardians in fighting for their future. Your generous tax deductible donations will allow them to fulfill their vision and expand their incredible and important work.

Yours in peace, friendship and hope,
