Our life styles are endangering our children’s future. We are becoming increasingly aware of the detrimental effects that our considerable consumption of the earth’s natural resources, the development of unnatural substances, and the staggering amount of non-biodegradable waste that we dispose of every day, have had on the health and livelihood of the inhabitants of this planet, especially children.
For example 100 billion plastic bags are used in America each year. That takes about 12 million barrels of oil annually, just for bags. These plastic bags will never bio-degrade, they get smaller and smaller and are ingested by animals, killing them and toxifying our soils.
Countries all over the world are slowly becoming aware of the threat plastic bags present. Many have enacted laws aimed to end or decrease the use of plastic bags in their countries, while others are, planning to impose taxes on the use of plastic bags. Let’s show future generations that we care about them by signing this petition to end the use of plastic bags in Colorado. Why Not? There are so many great alternatives to using plastic bags that don’t harm our Earth and endanger Future Generations!
